LaserView is excited to be able to offer the most advanced and safest treatment options to our patients. Combining the FS60 IntraLase with the Alcon LadarVision allows us to treat patients with the most precise, predictable, and safe treatment ever available in laser vision correction. LASIK is always a two-step procedure, and we strive to ensure that patients receive the best available treatment for their eyes at each step.

Step 1 – Creating a Corneal Flap with the FS60 IntraLase

IntraLase is the first blade-free laser technology for performing the initial step of the LASIK procedure – creating the corneal flap. Traditionally, this first step has been done manually using a hand-held device with an oscillating metal blade, called a microkeratome. While traditional LASIK with a microkeratome is a successful and relatively safe procedure that has shown excellent results, the IntraLase makes it safer for most patients by eliminating the severe, sight-threatening complications of the microkeratome. IntraLase – initiated LASIK is not only 100 times more accurate, but it also provides patients with superior visual outcomes.

Step 2 – Custom Laser Treatment with Alcon LadarVision

Traditional LASIK surgery can provide excellent results when correcting a wide range of vision problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. These vision problems are known as lower order aberrations.
CustomCornea®, delivered by the LADARVision® system, is a new kind of LASIK procedure that takes a similar approach and can help with many of the same visual problems. However, CustomCornea® is different from traditional LASIK in two important respects:

  1. CustomCornea® goes beyond reshaping your cornea based on your prescription for eyeglasses or contacts. The procedure is completely customized to your eyes and your eyes alone.
  2. CustomCornea® can help with other vision problems that could not be detected previously, known as higher order aberrations. Experts believe these aberrations can contribute to vision problems such as glare, halos, and night vision problems. Higher order aberrations cannot be treated by traditional laser vision correction procedures, or even by wearing eyeglasses or contacts. CustomCornea® became the first laser vision correction procedure the FDA approved for customized LASIK surgery to treat higher order aberrations.

Because of the unique capture, match and treat methods of the CustomCornea procedure performed at LaserView, we feel that the LadarVision at LaserView is the only choice for a true custom LASIK treatment.
