Before Your LASIK Procedure
|
- Bathe and shampoo hair before the procedure
- Wear warm and comfortable clothing
- Eat a light meal prior to the procedure
- Bring a driver who can take you home after the surgery
- Bring required paperwork pre-read and pre-signed on the day of your procedure:
- Informed Decision and Consent Form
- Post-Operative Instructions
- Re-Treatment Policy

- Bring an appropriate form of payment (detailed payment information available under Office Policies
- Do not use any eye drops on the day of the procedure
- Do not use any antihistamines or decongestants four days prior to the procedure
- Do not wear any eye or facial make-up, perfume, cologne or hair spray

After Your LASIK Procedure
- Go home and rest. Keep your eyes closed as much as possible for the remainder of the day
- Follow your post operative instructions included in your med bag regarding the use of drops
- Wear your eye shields any time you are sleeping for AT LEAST the first 24 hours after surgery
- In the days following your procedure be sure to blink frequently, gently and completely
- NEVER rub your eyes
- Avoid dirty, dusty and smoky environments for one month after surgery
- Avoid swimming in any form (i.e. rivers, lakes, streams, pools, hot tubs and oceans) for one month following surgery
- No eye make up for AT LEAST one week following surgery and resume only with the approval of your eye care professional
- Your post-operative care is the cornerstone to a good outcome. Make sure to keep all post-operative appointments
